How does the spelling bee work? It is a little different this year…

Step 1 – Register for your student to participate in an online test: Scripps National Spelling Bee Online Test
Find written registration instructions here or watch a registration video.
Step 2 – Study the word lists sent via email to the guardian’s email address provided at registration.
Step 3 – Students are given an online test of 15-25 words, some are from the study list and some are not. Online tests are by grade level and the link will be emailed to the guardian’s email used at registration. Online testing will be between Dec 3rd-12th.
Step 4 – The top tests from each grade will compete at the in-person spelling bee.
Feb 10 for kinder-2nd grades Feb 11 for 3rd-5th grades
Step 5 – The 3rd-5th grade winner advances to the regional spelling bee.
